The Fields Above

From a shaded stream below the fields, the viewer looks uphill toward harvesters, grain stacks, a church, and the distant valley.

A dark, leafy foreground opens onto a stream where workers gather plants and ducks move through still water. Beyond it, a broad golden slope rises toward harvesters cutting grain, bundled stacks, and a group resting beneath a tree. A church and hazy valley appear between the field and the distant water. By entering the valley and looking back uphill, The Fields Above changes the original landscape’s far background into the place from which the harvest is seen.
